Try smuggling a balloon full of heroin up your ass.
I hate to break it to you, but you're supposed to swallow the balloon.

And yeah, it could break, but if breaks while it is stuck up your ass, you will have the same result.

So Scabbers. . .whats your plan? Why are you coming to the US?
Oh, it's just a short trip with some friends. Just staying for 16 days.
One of my friends grandfather have a apartment on Manhattan which is rent controlled, and as far as I understood it, he has paid the same amount since the 70s. And we get to stay there for free! (His grandfather is currently in Norway, so we get it for ourself).

I'm not really sure what to do in New York. Got any ideas?

Walk out the front door of the building, you'll figure something out. Right off the top, everything is expensive as fuck. Walk around times square. Go to Carnegie Deli for a sammich http://www.carnegiedeli.com/home.php or Katz http://www.katzdeli.com/

Hopefully you're south of 110th street. If not, skip Carnegie or Katz, and try Sylvia's http://www.sylviassoulfood.com/

If you are, then stay south of it. There's racism, and then of course there is common sense. And it works both way. Even Mike Tyson wouldn't go strolling around some of the white 'hoods in brooklyn.

Call it a simple pleasure, but I thought the inside of grand central station was cool as hell, just because of the height of the ceiling. And then of course, thinking of all the people that have stood in the same spot. There's the Empire State building, the list is long.

CBGB is gone, but fortunately, you can still see it here.

Anyways, I'm sure you'll find something. Some would say it's the center of the world. Personally, I would say London, but NYC is definitely a contender.

A good place for ideas would be here

You scored, it should definitely be cool. Another big plus is in doesn't involve driving, and the bars serve 24/7.

And I said "swallow the balloon." I got pulled over once and tried to swallow coke. Not a smart move. Looking back though, I usually see the comedy in everything.
It works as a local anesthetic, so of course when I tried to talk, it made me sound kind of um, different. I didn't catch it at the time, but the CHP lady seemed proud that "someone like me" could get a driver's licence. Warving may arms around going ARRRRgUUUUAAAAAA

But since we're on the subject, you'e supposed to me able to stick dope up your ass and get high. I guess it is just for coke & opiates though. I tried to do it to a chick once with weed, but she said it hurt too bad, and the cherry of the joint gave her a big blister.

It is, as to my understanding, still cheaper than in Norway. As long as the beer cost less than 10 bucks, it constitutes as hella cheap and I'm happy.

But thanks for suggestions and the link!

So what are the dates? There are some cool things to do depending on the time of year. I actually stayed in Manhattan briefly interning in college. Shit that was like in 1996 so its been awhile but I'm sure some of the same things are there. At the time Beer was like 6-8 bucks in the clubs and the selection was slim. However hard liquor was about the same and the drinks were very stiff.

I always liked October as the CMJ was in town. That's pretty much 5 days of music all over similar to South by Southwest in Austin but a little edgier. Usually they put around the MTV awards so it all blends together.

I'd take the time to do a show down on Broadway so you can say you did. All of them will be pretty cool. You can do them for less by getting the off hours shows and buying the tickets from the discount brokers all around there. Late shows are usually cool too if you can get in. Lots of times you have to put in a request well in advance but your foreigners get high priority.

Battery Park was a cool place to visit in the day time and early evening. There were always performers doing something and a good place to buy your knock offs back when I was around there.

I also like the Irish bars in the Village. There was one place (can't remember what it was called now) but they always had this punk/Celtic music going. There was almost always an electric Cello and some goth looking chick playing it before goth was cool.

One thing is I never really felt unsafe except in the Bronx and once at Coney island at night and that's only because some dude got shot in the alley right as we passed by. Most of the people are pretty friendly if you're friendly to them. One day as guy killed himself by jumping in front of the subway train and I had no clue how to get to where I was going because I needed that train and a guy could tell so he said "follow me and I'll get us to another train." Most everyone was pretty cool.

I was disappointed in Central Park. I guess I didn't know what to expect but it was well. . its wasn't what I expected.

Fuck me...
(yes I am browsing old threads)

What is the point of this question - who in their right mind would admit to this?
