How many years has it been for those heathens?

Oh yes, happy new year to them...whatever year it is over there.

Hong Kong, hiding from the Kommies!
OK, I'm back from 3 days in Zhonshan China, about 100 kilometers North of Macao, visiting the wife's family.

Here are a few pics from the festive eating:

Fried Carp. Notice how the meat was folded from the spin and deep fried, spinkled with pine nuts.

Roasted Pigeon

Silkworms

Scallops in garlic

Roasted Goose

2. I scrolled to the bottom of the thread rather quickly to get to the first post... and as I was passing up the pictures, I thought: Mm, that looks good. I am so hungry. Then... I read everything and really looked at the pictures. Silkworms??

how did you become accustomed to eating foods like this?
Actually there are items in the list I did not touch like the ducks feet, chicken feet and pigs feet.

The silkworms were fine. Pigeon is farmed no different than chicken, duck or goose. It's not like they catch them in the town square or something.
Roasted goose is quite nice actually.

Although it's pictured with the fowl heads, no one usually eats them.

I'm sure you'd have no problems with the scallops and shrimp?

I wasnt implying them to be dirty, I have issues with food that still has its head, feet or tails. Not to mention some of that (like the fried carp) just looked gross...
