Stumblers?

I've mentioned using a little something for Firefox (and now even IE) called "StumbleUpon" before. It allows you to jump around the net to sites that people with similar interest have submitted, and in my stumblings I once ran across a relatively new forum. This other forum didn't have a name that one would necessarily think to type into the toolbar, but someone had submitted a thread from there into Stumble. It was nothing terribly new to the net, just a bunch of random FAIL pics.

I noticed then (April of this year) that if I were to sign up, I'd be this site's 74th member. I had no interest in posting there, mind you. The site was pretty dead, and I was more interested in seeing SC take off. Still, I signed up more or less as a way to keep track of this other forum's activity.

So, I checked it out again this week. This other forum now has over 900 members. I looked into it a bit, and there was a thread inquiring how the members had found the site. Most claim they found it via StumbleUpon.

I've already spammed out my SU profile with links to this place, and I've managed to score a few members in doing so. (No one that's stuck around for long, I'm afraid.) If anyone else here uses SU, I'd like to ask that you submit the occasional thread or blog as well. I'd like to see some new faces around here, and I'm hoping it would help.

Thanks!

(Does anyone else here even use StumbleUpon?)

Totally! That's where I got some of the weird/interesting stuff that I used to post on FY.

And brilliant idea, Violet! All in favour say I.

Thanks V...

To the rest of you;

For you that are lazy and near fucking illiterate there's been a link to stumbleUpon at the bottom of every forum page since this forum was initiated back in March.

Funnily enough, I found SC through SU.

I think you could get a massive member jump if there was some kind of pyramid scheme in place and lost of fake money.

That or porn.

Porn (other than soft porn) will not be a part of this forum.
Sorry.

Well pyramid scheme it is then!

Give me half your money and recruit two others to give you half of their money. Then you keep half and give the rest to me.

Repeat ad nauseum and watch the forum grow!

Whenever you find a thread (or a web page) that you like, click the 'I like it' thumbs-up thingie on your Stumble toolbar. If it's new to Stumble, you'll have the option of 'discovering' it.

Use the speach bubble to write a review for your blog.

Its right below the bottom post in any given thread. Use it if you like a thread, want to bump up awareness of the site, want to share the thread with other stumblers, etc. Doesn't have to be a thread you made. If you can't see the buttons on the bottom, you will have to have a discussion with GDP as to why. But in the meantime, the thumbs up button on the toolbar that should have come with your membership works. If you don't have it, its here for you to download.
