With today being considered a special day by some, I thought I'd throw out my thoughts.
It should be no secret that I hate politics by now. I hate everything about the process. The very word "politics" is usually reserved for statements laced with negative connotation as in "that's bullshit, it's all politics anyway." With the discussion of politics the issue of voting inevitably comes up.

Voting(for president) is an exercise in futility. I hate the fact that whenever the discussion of "voting" is brought up by half-witted dumbfucks that vote for someone they know dick about, it is always in regards to the presidency, as if these people didn't realize there are positions at the local level that hold elections, which are arguably far more important. I have done/continue to do my civic duty at the local level, but only once on the national level. I'm convinced that it really is fucking pointless to vote for president.

So...here's a short list of things I would do to change voting and politics in general.

1. Actually make education in the US a top priority. Stupid kids become stupid adults that make stupid decisions about the future of the US. We care more about the Chinese beating us in women's volleyball and gymnastics than we do them beating the fuck out of us in mathematics and science. If we are indeed the greatest country, we should be #1 in everything, no discussion. Furthermore, passionate intelligent people demand more of candidates running for the most important position in American politics (president). Bullshit politicking will no longer fly amongst the smarter masses---i.e. they will actually be required to answer the fucking question.
2. ***Quit pussy footing and pass a law REQUIRING people to vote. Too many cynical intelligent people (ahem) chose not to vote because it is fucking pointless. We need their input to outweigh the fucking tards. EVENTUALLY, the outcome of the first suggestion will only serve to better the outcome of the second suggestion until only those worth a shit will be voting for officials and only those that are worth a shit will be elected to office.
3. Everyone must be subject to an aptitude test prior to voting. Due to the 2nd suggestion, there are inevitably going to be masses of retards showing up. SO, prior to the election at some arbitrarily selected time interval before hand, everyone will be required to take an examination testing their knowledge of the United States government (including questions about the three branches of government, etc.—Basic shit learned in a 7th grade social studies class), what the president's role in politics actually is, who the candidates are and their policies on various issues. Not difficult for the informed decision maker.
I haven't decided yet what to do with those that fail, but it may have something to do with sending them to "concentration" camps for "re-education."
4. Tampering with voting results shall be considered treasonous. If there is any tampering with votes or corruption at any level, the offenders will be considered traitors and shot. Pictures of their bodies will be distributed among various polling locations and hung on the walls as examples of the importance of not fucking with votes. Fuck you, it's a good idea!

These are just a few random somewhat satirical thoughts of my own about improving the system. Do you feel that voting and the political process in general is broken? What would you do to change it?

Word.
#5 Rid ourselves of the two party system. In recent years it has done nothing but split the nation and create mindless "fanboys/fangirls" on either side. It's polarized the nation into being either poor leftist fags, or rich war mongering rights. Fuck them both...in the dumper!

I've actually abstained from virtually ANY political discussion this election year. Those that have been around -on fy- since the 2004 election might remember me as one to voice my opinion on politics and carry on discussions with regard to the Presidential election in that particular election.

Well, four years have passed and I have radically changed my views on the matter.

My thoughts are simple; I feel like politics are too freely discussed. There was a time when people kept their opinions of politics, particularly the Presidential election, confined to their homes, loved ones, ect. The remnants of this ethos can still be seen at the polls where privacy is somewhat protected.

It seems that more and more, people want to shout their political stance from the fucking mountain tops. We're bombarded with everyone's individual agendas in so many forms from simple signs in front yards, to blathering on television and radio. Everyone has a fucking agenda which they'd rather force on people than keep to themselves and it sickens me. The democratic process in America is already a joke. Add a collection of idiots with megaphones to the mix and it's downright disgusting.

However, since I've stifled my opinion through this entire election process, I'll let loose a few key points....

1. The two main partisan candidates have spent a combined estimated two billion dollars on their respective campaigns. That's right. Billion with a "B". Yet both candidates blather on about how they care about America and "put this nation first". If they were so concerned with this nation, then why not redistribute those funds to the appropriate agencies and programs they support, rather than use those funds to further advance their political career? I'll tell you why; Because politics is a self-serving career choice. Fuck em both.

2. We're fucked, regardless of which candidate gets elected. Obama is an inexperienced, ill-equipped, pansy-ass, supporter of hate who has close-knit ties to organized crime in Chicago. McCain is a fucking antique who has a proven track record of inability to stick to his guns, and a foreign relation policy that borderlines on insane. Aside from those two, there really are no other candidates. You can feed me that bullshit about Ron Paul, or whomever else you support, but everyone knows that the two major parties have the only chance at this point, and I've got a better chance of growing a hairy pair of balls on my forehead than Ron Paul does of becoming President.

3. I'm not voting in the Presidential election this year. I don't give a shit if Leo DiCaprio or Tim Robbins think I'm a fucking tool for it. I've already voted on my state and local issues, but I left my Presidential slot unpunched. Why? Because my vote doesn't mean shit. The Electoral College runs the show, people, and they're already decided. With exception to two undecided states (53 electoral college votes), we can assume that Obama has won this election.

4. Who gives a shit? I don't. I used to, but this election is based entirely on too much bullshit. Americans are dumb. I hate saying that, but it's true. I've been watching this election closely today and I've come to that conclusion. Blacks are coming out of the woodwork to vote for Obama for the mere fact that he's black and not George Bush. Obama is, simply put, a fad, and we're going to end up with a President-elect who is in office based entirely on the fact that idiot inner city ghetto trash and college kids heard in some rap song that George Bush "be dat bad man" and there's a black man running for the position. And for those of you preparing to launch your "kill's a racist" attack, blow me. I just call it like I see it.

So to summarize, this election is a goddamned joke and so is your face.

Interesting post script: With regards to my comment on Tim Robbins, I found the following article a few minutes ago and thought it was humorous....

Actor Tim Robbins was not happy when told he would have to vote by provisional ballot in New York on Tuesday, TMZ.com is reporting.

The actor and well-known liberal activist became enraged when officials at his usual polling location in New York informed him that his name was not on the register, the Web site reports. When poll workers asked him to fill out a provisional ballot, he reportedly refused, and an altercation ensued, resulting in cops coming to the scene.

Determined to vote, Robbins went all the way to the City Board of Elections to obtain proof that he was a registered voter, TMZ.com says

I fucking hate Robbins, and any inconvenience that he's forced to endure to keep his radical, left wing agenda away from the polls as long as possible is a fucking blessing to the people of this nation.

I don't have a problem with Obama being a black president. Our society is founded on the belief that we can be whatever the fuck we aspire to be. Frankly, there are a number of black candidates that would have had my vote without hesitation.

My problem lies in the fact that this guy won the election because to vote for him was the "cool" or "trendy" thing to do. I'm watching news reports right now and there are people actually crying at the Obama rally. CRYING! What is wrong with these assholes?

People are casting votes in record numbers because of television commercials and music and actors. I'm literally sad, not because a black man made it into the White House, but because this particular MAN (be him black or otherwise) has done little more than inspired a collection of complete fucking idiots to flock to the polls in swarms and give him their votes based solely on the fact that he's a good salesman to dumbasses who don't know any better.

I've read completely unbiased bio's of BOTH candidates and honestly, BOTH of their pasts scare the fucking shit out of me. I don't know about any of you, but I plan on restocking ammunition first thing tomorrow so that I'm prepared for the onslaught of illegal immigrants and terrorists who will certainly begin flooding into our nation immediately.

Edit: While I honestly have no problem with a black man being US President, I think this gives whites everywhere the right to say, "I don't ever want to hear another poor black person bitch about "the man" holding them down". That argument is hereby rendered null and void, and any black person that ever decides to mutter those words in my presence will rapidly have his pancreas introduced to my boot.

From CNN world edition (bold is mine):

Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz called the U.S. election an "example of democracy at its best," citing Americans' "plethora of opportunities" to learn about the candidates' policies and stance on key issues. It also paid tribute to Obama's unifying influence, saying, "Whites and blacks, Jews and Muslims, all decided to give their votes to a candidate who is young, black and lacking in governmental experience," and expressed its hope that the President-elect would "rehabilitate the status of a superpower that remains unrivaled in its influence over the peace and welfare of all humanity."

We should be considered fortunate that we can vote in the first place, even as redundant it may seem.

This is exactly what I'm talking about.

Why the huge emphasis on Obama being "black", or worse, "African American"? Last time I checked, Obama was born of a white mother named Ann from Kansas. Since he was shat out of his mother's birth canal and not ejaculated from daddy's meat stick, in theory, shouldn't his nationality be considered white?

I'm baffled at the extent the media will go to glamorize this election for anything more than it is; A gigantic sale to the idiots of the nation who only recognize the fact that his skin tone favors his father's roots.

What is this "we" shit that you speak of? If memory serves, you denounced your citizenship and carted your ass off to Japan in an effort to completely avoid our policies. Make up your fucking mind, already, jerk off.

Thats why I didn't vote for in the Presidential Election. People kept screaming at me that "your vote counts" and to "rock the vote" or what-the-fuck-ever the catch phrase is this year without realizing that in a lot of places, there are no laws forcing the Electoral College to vote with the majority of the popular vote. They are "supposed to" bow to the whims of the population in their district, but are not "required to". Its a holdover from the era in this country when there was no such thing as a minimum education and back then, it was probably a great idea. Its time has passed and I will vote again when it is abolished permanently. Until then, I will be one of the informed non voters. At least when it comes to the presidency.

Pssst ... the US is a REPUBLIC.

Worry NOT about the presidential policies .. instead worry mightily about the numerous judicial postings that will most likely be filled with Liberal, hippy, anti gun, easy on crime, interpret the Constitution like a crybaby retard Judges.

That's the only thing that bothers me about Obama, the fact that he has the potential to pussy soak the Judiciary ... and ALL of those positions are lifelong ones.

Fuck a democracy where mob rules ... give me back my Republic where the letter of the law holds sway.

A. Viagra isn't injectable, you tool. For someone of your incredibly old age, you'd think you'd be familiar with the proper methods of dosage for this particular drug.

B. Viagra injections to the head? Assflea? Your rips are about as entertaining as watching grass grow, and about as well thought out as a beer fart.

C. I couldn't give a shit less what your reasons for living overseas are. You could be running for your life in fear of Brown Recluse spiders for all I give a shit. But I'm of the opinion that if you voluntarily leave this nation (with exception to being called into active military duty, temporary employment relocation, etc.), you voluntarily leave your rights behind.

Furthermore, you've expressed little more than disdain for the state of things in this country. I've had the unfortunate displeasure of sifting through your ilk for years and all I've observed are your rips on the government, rips on society, rips on policy,....the list goes on and on and lacks very few (if any) references to the good that this nation provides.

Now suddenly you see something that garners your approval and refer to yourself as a member of our collective masses?

Blow me.

I could go on and on, but nothing I say to your dumb ass is going to be any different than anything I've already said, so I'll refer back to an old post on FY.COM (which can be found HERE) when I said...

Killem said:
You're so dissatisfied about the state of things in America, yet too fucking chickenshit to do anything about it. But you'll gladly take advantage of that whole Freedom of Speech thing without hesitation, prejudice, or fear of rebuke.

You're a hypocrite. Hell, you're not just a hypocrite, you're a FLAGRANT hypocrite. At least people like Fire, GDP, Societysucks, and a few others on this forum were willing to potentially sacrifice their lives for this place. What have you done with your freedoms besides take advantage of them until you ran away?
No scurry back to your fried rice, sake, and hentai and leave the politics of this nation to those of us who actually give a shit enough to not abandon it no matter what the cost, you fucking degenerate.

Exactly. I heard his name before I saw his face... and when I did, honestly, I didn't even fucking notice he was "black" - until that was all the media could talk about (or anyone around me either). My first thought was... Okay, what's his platform? Who's in his cabinet? Where is he from and what has he done?

My son was playing with the remote today and somehow flipped the channel to "trl" (total request live on mtv, for those of you haven't seen it. Be thankful if this is you) - and there was some guy dressed like so:

...rapping about how blacks are moving up in the world or some shit. Basically, it was some lame-ass, painful performance about how awesome it is that there is a sort of black president.

It did nothing but piss me off. Who cares what this guy will do or who he will be as prez... He's ma nigga, yo!

Ha! And after that, they got Alicia Keys on the phone to comment on how liberated she felt. wtf?!?

You sure don't care enough to bring it up when you can. Guess that makes YOU a hypocrite and a broken record.

You're comments underlined are so absurd, I don't know where to begin.
I pay taxes, I vote. I am within my rights doing so. It's interesting that the U.S gov allows it but you, a mere peon within the mass of peons chooses to judge otherwise. I don't need to go on a murdering rampage, invading OTHER nations to prove my worth to assholes like you and I certainly don't need to shot grandmas in the kneecaps with a shotgun, within their own homes, fool.

Furthermore, you've expressed little more than disdain for the state of things in this country.
Because things have sucked THERE for years. Du de dur dur doo.

Please let this not be a worldwide trend. The last thing my country needs is an Aboriginal Prime Minister.
It will never happen. There is 340 years worth of evolution to catch up, intellectually speaking.

Footnote, I am glad Obama is President. That is all.
